Laid-back breastfeeding – You lean back and let the baby lie on your chest naturally part 2
Lean back comfortably on a bed, sofa, or chair with good support.
Place your baby on your chest, facing you, tummy down.
Let the baby’s whole body rest against your body.
Support the baby’s head, neck, and back with your arm or hand.
Allow gravity to help keep the baby in position.
The baby may move and find the breast naturally.
Gently guide the baby if help is needed to latch.
Make sure the baby’s nose is clear and able to breathe.
Watch for relaxed sucking and swallowing.
This position helps with a deep latch and can reduce nipple pain.
