Cross-cradle hold – You support the baby’s head with the opposite hand to help with latching
Hold your baby across your body with their tummy facing you.

Use the opposite arm from the breast you are feeding with to support the baby.

Place your hand behind the baby’s neck and shoulders, not on the head.

Support the baby’s body along your forearm and hand.

Hold your breast with your free hand to help guide the nipple.

Line up the baby’s nose with your nipple before latching.

Wait until the baby opens their mouth wide.

Gently bring the baby to the breast for a deep latch.

Make sure the baby’s chin touches the breast first.

Watch for comfortable sucking and swallowing, and adjust if needed.
